Derek

Hi, I'm Derek!! I've got an amazing smile, and my face lights up when I laugh. Due to Colombian adoption regulations, though, I'm not allowed to show you on this blog. But it'd be awesome if you could take a minute to read about me!

I'm 14 years old, and I've been living at my orphanage for awhile. I am a total ball of energy. I really enjoy running around, playing soccer, and asking questions. I have a sensitive side, too. And I've always loved learning English--I don't know it all too well, but my pronunciation of words is great. I've actually met and hung out with the girl who writes this blog a couple times. We've known each other for years. She thinks I'm a great kid.

I'm extremely friendly, and I get along with just about everyone. I always include my friends in games, and ask other people to play. I dream of one day having a family who will love and cherish me.

Caroline

Hi, how are you? My name's Caroline. I've got a sweet, innocent smile, but because of some Colombian adoption regulations, I can't post a photo of my face on here. It would mean a lot to me if you'd read a little bit about me.

I'm 15 years old, so that means I'm about to age out of the international adoption system. If I'm not in the USA by my 16th birthday, I'll never have the chance to be adopted. I'm an outgoing kid, and only shy on occasion when I meet new people, usually adults. But I'm super social, and have no problem making new friends and maintaining those friendships. I'd say I'm generally pretty open, and can express my feelings well, even in situations that make me uncomfortable.

I'm independent, and people describe me as being artistic, athletic, intellectual, and social. I would love to have a family to walk through life with. I have big dreams for my life.

Would you like to know a bit more about me? If you click here, you can make a profile on A Child to Love. You can find me under the "South America" filter, where you can read my biographical report and check out my pictures. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me!

George

Hello! My name is George. I live in Colombia, and due to Colombian adoption regulations I'm not allowed to share my face on this blog. I'm almost at a point where I'm going to age out of the system, and I'd really love to have a family help me pursue my BIG dreams. Are you looking to adopt an older boy from Colombia? I'd really appreciate it if you could take the time to read a little about me.

I'm 15 years old. I am an independent, smart, and driven kid. I'm artistic and athletic, and really enjoy theater and volleyball. I also spend a lot of time reading and writing. I'm actually currently writing a book about my life. Some of my other favorite activities include going to libraries, museums, archaeological parks, and to the theater. I dream of having a family to walk through life with.

I don't tend to make close relationships with others, but I'm quite friendly and respectful of the people I interact with, especially my teachers and other adults.  I'm very responsible when it comes to my academic studies, and I generally enjoy being a leader in school activities.

Would you like to learn even more about me? You can click here to go to A Child to Love to make a profile and see my biographical report, and a picture or two of me. You'll find me under the "South America" filter.

Hi, how are you? Our names are John and Diane. We'd love to be able to smile for you, but due to Colombian adoption regulations, we can't publicly show our faces on the web. Are you looking to adopt? We'd love it if you could spend a little time getting to know us through this post.

John: I am 15 years old! If I don't have a family by the time I turn 16, I'll never have the chance to be adopted. I'm a very polite, honest, and happy kid. People tell me I've shown great moral development and appropriate behavior for a boy my age. I easily show affection to those I am close to, especially my sister Dianne. I'm not a shy kid, and really spend time getting to know new people and friends. I take the initiative when it's appropriate, but also I know when to wait for instructions. I consider myself to be a good role model to younger kids. I do well in school, and always complete the tasks I'm assigned. I'm also artistic, athletic, intellectual, and social. My favorite sport is soccer--I'm a great midfield, goalie, and outside mid-striker. I also enjoy playing tennis, basketball, and baseball. I'm a good baker and like to draw. In my free time, I enjoy going to the movies, theme parks, and participating in outdoor/environmental activities.

Dianne: I am 12 years old! I'm a very lovable and happy girl. I enjoy receiving affection, but I'm not quite sure how to express that. However, I can be very affectionate with those I'm extremely close to, especially my big brother. I love him so much! When I needs help with something, I communicate that need to the best of my ability. I'm responsible with my schoolwork, always getting it done and making good grades. I'm organized and rarely need to be reminded to complete an assignment. I'm also like this with my self-care; I show complete autonomy with my personal daily chores. At first, I come off as shy, but when you get to know me I open up and my confidence begins to show. I also make and maintain friendships well. I am very careful with my belongings, and take good care of objects I borrow from peers. For fun, I like arts and crafts, as well as baking. In regard to sports, I like playing volleyball. In my free time, I like to go to the pool, the movies, and the mall.

I am 11 years old! I'm a very cheerful, noble, and loving kiddo. I currently live in a foster home, and during the time I've lived there I've had amazing moral and personal development, including a good sense of self and self-esteem. My idea of a family is a mom and dad with their kids who are affectionate, but set limits and norms, and love and take care of you so you can grow.

I'm really respectful of those around me. I can control his behavior to make sure it matches the current situation. I am caring, easygoing, and expressive. I can express my emotions in a way others can understand. My emotions are stable and I adapt well to change.

I'm careful with his belongings, and take good care of them. I also takes good care of himself, as I am a very responsible kid.

I'm incredibly intelligent, creative, and imaginative. I like playing computer games, reading, making crafts, playing board games, swimming, and playing soccer.

I am 13 years old. I do well in school both academically and socially. I take the initiative in social situations, looking to initiate conversations with others. I really enjoy sharing my things--I believe everybody should be able to take part in the fun. I'm a very loving girl.

I also take very good care of myself. I make my bed every morning. How many teenagers do you know who do that?! I take careful consideration of my personal presence, too. I treat my personal belongings with care, and also make sure to take great care of objects my friends lend me.

I'm also very intellectual, artistic, and athletic. One of my favorite sports is volleyball, but I enjoy many others as well.

Kelly

Hi, how are you today? I'm Kelly, and I love to smile! Unfortunately, though, due to Colombian adoption regulations, I'm not allowed to show you on this blog. But since you can't see me, let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I'm 13 years old, and have been living at my current orphanage in Colombia for 9 years. I'm in the seventh grade, and very self-motivated to do well. I excel at subjects involving ethics and values, humanities, and language, but sometimes I have trouble with science and math.

Generally, I'm pretty laid back and calm, but I really don't like being teased or seeing someone take away someone else's rights without just cause. I'm scared of spiders, insects, and horror films. I enjoy going to the movies, singing and dancing, and jumping rope.

Overall, I'd say I'm expressive, creative, persistent, and observant. I am known to be extremely empathetic, intelligent, and tolerant of others. I enjoying making friends, and I am very loyal to them. I'm a great singer and dancer, and would make a solid teammate in debate. I also play basketball for my school's team.

To me, a family is a group of people who I can confide in, and who have my back.

Caleb and Jacob

Camilo (left) and Jesús (right)
Hi, our names are Caleb and Jacob! We live in Colombia, a country right at the top of South America. Unfortunately, because of Colombian adoption regulations, we're not allowed to show our faces here. We're really hoping to find a forever family! Are you looking to adopt a pair of loving brothers, or do you know of someone considering adoption? We'll tell you a little more about ourselves right now.

Caleb: I am 12 years old! Can you believe I'm almost a teenager? I'd love to get to spend that birthday with a family. I'm respectful, outgoing, and energetic. I consider my brother to be one of my best friends, I really like playing with him. Unlike him, I'm a bit impulsive. I'm super active, but I'm very sensitive as well. I'm a social kid, and love making and playing with new friends--I adapt well to change. In school, I like math class. It took some practice, but I'm getting pretty good at doing math problems now! In my free time, I like drawing, soccer, researching stuff, and playing with other people.

Jacob: I am 10 years old! I have a strong personality and a smile that will melt your heart. I really enjoy playing with my big brother. He's one of my closest friends, and I'm pretty protective of him, just like he's protective of me. My biggest fear is being separated from him. I can control my impulses well, and I can express my emotions effectively. This makes me a great leader! I'm calm, and I just love to be hugged! I'm also resilient and adapt well to change. I spend a lot of time thinking about what it would be like to have a real family. I make friends easily, and I'm not shy at all! In my free time, I enjoy drawing (I'm actually a really good artist), learning new things, and playing sports. Soccer is my favorite!
